Orange Credit Union will celebrate its 60th anniversary in December. It was registered as Email (Orange) Employees Credit Union after forming during a special meeting of Email (Orange) employees in the staff canteen in December 1964.
To celebrate their 50th year of operations in 2014, Orange Credit Union produced several short films featuring interviews with management, directors, staff, and members. Orange Credit Union deposited digital copies of these films with Australian Mutuals History for posterity.
The above film titled “What Makes OCU Unique?” is only a few minutes long but features poignant reflections from Maureen Horth (Director), Deanne Wilton (Staff Member), Paul McNamara (General Manager), Natalie Reid (Member), Cindy Wright (Staff Member) and Pat Egan (Founding Director and longest serving Board Chair).
