Thanks to Great Southern Bank we’re able to show you these excellent photos of Dandenong Credit Union and Berwick Credit Union offices from the 1970s and 1980s.

Great Southern Bank has merged with many credit unions over the years and regularly donates records and photographs to us for posterity. Late last year they donated a great deal of material originating from credit unions that have merged with them including Advantage Credit Union and First Nations Advantage Credit Union and many photographs from the 1970s and 1980s from Dandenong Credit Union and Berwick Credit Union including the ones reproduced below.

Dandenong Credit Union was registered as St. Mary's (Dandenong) Credit Co-operative in 1968 and very quickly dropped the “St. Mary’s” from their name. They transferred engagements to Piccol Community Credit Union in 1995 which merged with Advantage Credit Union in 1997 which made its way to Great Southern Bank in 2006.

Berwick Credit Union was registered in 1971 and transferred engagements to Dandenong Credit Union in 1978.
